Make Death your date!

So, today I draw an U.S Army recruitment poster  based on World War II for a class project in my American history class. It looks pretty bad-ass, I must say. I copied the album cover for The Gang's All Here by Dropkick Murphy's. (Click the link to see a picture of that.) Except I made a few adjustments to it. I made the sky just a plain sky blue color, instead of the yellow, black, and red streaks, I used green and yellow-green for the uniforms and helmets instead of the pale olive green and olive green, and I removed the text "Dropkick Murphy's" and "The Gang's All Here" and replaced it with "Join now! Don't wait!" and "Make Death your date!" (Lyrics to the song Sold As Freedom by Anti-Flag) I also removed some of the planes in the distance, just because trying to draw them became more of a nuisance than anything else. They don't add or take away from the picture any, so why waste the effort?

I'll be turning it in on Monday, and my teacher just might be posting it on the marker board with the few other drawn posters. Mine will be the first colored poster and the first recruitment poster, that I am aware of. The others are black and white ads for war bonds or propaganda against Hitler and Mussolini. And they are drawings of actual posters put up during World War II, while mine was something I "made up." We'll see how my teacher reacts when he sees it on Monday. I'm expecting good results, though.

Also, I'll be showing my teacher the songs The Green Fields of France by Dropkick Murphy's and The Lads Who Fought and Won by The Real McKenzies for another project. We have to do four total projects for one big project grade. So there's two projects down, two more to go. Which I have no idea what else I'm going to do. I ought to look at the assignment sheet and see what other options it gives.
